Three working sessions were held today in Sana'a as part of the Fifth Diagnostic Laboratory Medicine Conference "Reality and Ambition," organized by the National Center for Central Health Laboratories over three days.
The sessions featured a number of working papers, research papers, and scientific lectures presented by doctors and specialists from both inside and outside the country. These papers covered new tests for diabetes patients to ensure accurate diagnosis, obesity and infections, and the molecular biology of diagnostic tools.
The working papers and research papers also addressed the role of artificial intelligence in reproductive health, modern technologies in infertility treatment, the impact of cancer on immunity, and the sustainability of internal and external quality control programs in medical laboratories.
Dr. Abdul-Ilah Al-Harazi, Director General of the National Center for Public Health Laboratories and Vice President of the Conference, emphasized the importance of continuing and developing scientific research in laboratory medicine and various fields, especially in light of the current circumstances facing the country as a result of the repercussions of the aggression and blockade.
He noted that today's working sessions focused on diabetes and modern tests for early diagnosis, as well as the launch of a new set of tests by Al-Awlaqi Laboratories that will serve early diagnosis for mothers, fetuses, and children.
Dr. Al-Harazi explained that practical papers and research were discussed on glycated hemoglobin testing and post-glycated hematology, as well as general hematology. He explained that the conference aims to keep pace with modern technologies, including the use of artificial intelligence in laboratory diagnostic medicine. He noted that the latest laboratory equipment was showcased in the conference's accompanying exhibition.
He pointed out that the conference was distinguished by its unexpectedly large and effective participation, reaching 1,500 participants, in addition to 3,000 participants via Zoom. He emphasized the importance of integration between laboratory and clinical medicine.
For his part, Dr. Hafez Al-Noud, Chairman of the Conference Scientific Committee, stated that today's working sessions also focused on infectious and non-communicable diseases, quality, and the latest developments in laboratory diagnostics.
He emphasized the importance of establishing strategic partnerships between researchers, companies, and healthcare institutions to develop laboratory diagnostic medicine. He noted that the conference aims to exchange expertise, present specialized technical presentations, and explore medical diagnostic developments through the latest specialized research.
