The Russian Defense Ministry announced Friday that its forces were able to regain control of seven towns in Ukraine during the past week, and inflicted heavy losses on the Ukrainian forces, as they eliminated 12,910 soldiers.
The Russian Defense Ministry said in its weekly statement on the progress of military operations in Ukraine that its forces launched more than 37 intensive and collective strikes with high-precision weapons, and using attack drones against military targets in Ukraine during the period from December 21 to 27.
The statement added that the Russian air defenses were able to shoot down four cruise missiles, a long-range Neptune guided missile, two guided bombs, and 31 missiles from the HIMARS system, in addition to 496 Ukrainian drones.
The statement indicated that the total losses of the Ukrainian forces since the beginning of the military operation in February 2022 amounted to 650 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 38,648 drones, 590 anti-aircraft missile systems, 20,057 tanks and other armored vehicles, 1,504 rocket launchers, 20,043 pieces of field artillery and mortars, and 29,584 special military vehicles.
