The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects cold to very cold weather and frost formation in a number of governorates during the next 24 hours.
According to the weather bulletin issued by the center, it is expected that the weather will be very cold in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar and Al-Bayda and parts of the highlands of Ibb, Al-Dhale'e, Lahj, Abyan with the possibility of frost formation (thaw) in parts of them.
It indicated that the weather may be cold in the highlands of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Raymah, Taiz, Hadramout and Shabwa and desert areas.
It stated that the lowest temperatures recorded in some meteorological monitoring stations this morning reached -1 in Dhamar, 00.3 in Al-Bayda, 00.4 in Amran, 1 in Sana'a, 05.7 in Ibb, 08.2 in Seiyun, 08.3 in Al-Mahwit.
The center called on citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients and workers during the late night and early morning hours, to take the necessary measures to protect themselves from the cold and very cold weather.
It urged farmers to take the necessary precautions and follow the instructions to protect their crops, as well as livestock herders, beekeepers and poultry keepers to protect them from the effects of the severe cold.
