Tehran is deeply concerned at escalation in Syria, Iran's representative to the UN said late on Tuesday, noting that his country would constantly support the Syrian government and people in their fair war against terrorism.
Iran recognizes Syria's sovereignty in fighting the terrorist groups, like Tahrir al-Sham (TAS), that brought about destruction, disorder and suffering, Amir Saeed Irwani added at UNSC emergency session on recent developments in Syria.
TAS group's huge, complicated operations and advanced arms suggest foreign deliberate support, from the US in particular, that turned terrorism into an instrument in its foreign policy to achieve its political goals, he argued.
