SANA'A, Jan. 05 (Saba) – President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi affirmed on Sunday Yemen's rejection to extradite Dr. Abdul-Wahab al-Homaiqani, Secretary-General of the Yemeni Al-Rashad Union and a member of the National Dialogue Conference, to the United States.
During his meeting with people sympathizing with al-Homaiqani, President Hadi said that the Yemeni government had sent a letter of condemnation to the US Treasure Department, stressing that the Yemeni judiciary will prosecute a Yemeni if accusation evidence was presented against him.
In a statement, the representatives of the sympathizing forum called on President Hadi and the government to officially ask the United States to revoke the false charges against al-Homaiqani and uncover the truths through all possible diplomatic and political means.
They also called on the United States to stop unjust measures taken against al-Homaiqani, emphasizing that the Yemeni judiciary is the only authority that could resolve any case claimed by foreign parties against Yemenis.
They further urged all Yemeni political parties, civil society organizations and all Yemeni people to reject such false accusations and demand to revoke them.
Meanwhile, President Hadi spoke to the attendees about Yemen's current situations and consequences of the 2011 crisis, spelling out that terrorists have exploited the crisis and caused damages to the infrastructure of Abyan and Shabwah.
"We did best during the past period to ease tensions and get Yemen out of all hardships" President Hadi said.
He also stressed the importance of cooperation of all Yemeni political parties for the success of the National Dialogue Conference and support of its outputs which will maintain Yemen's unity, security and stability.
