FM meets WFP Resident Representative in Yemen
[07/August/2022]

SANA'A, Aug.07 (Saba) - The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Engineer Hisham Sharaf Abdullah, met Sunday with WFP Resident Representative in Yemen Richard Ragan.

During the meeting, they reviewed the activities of the programs during the last period and the results of the visit of the Deputy Executive Director of the Program for Corporate Affairs and Advocacy to Sana'a.

At the meeting, the Minister for Foreign Affairs stressed that one of the most important means of dealing with the humanitarian consequences created by the aggression states is to ensure that ships of petroleum derivatives, domestic gas, and various types of goods do not obstruct entry into the port of Hodeida.

Yemen's economic support for the return of the economy, trade, and business was important, as it would create assisting jobs that would contribute to reducing the very high level of unemployment in Yemen.

For his part, the Resident Representative of the World Food Program (WFP) of Yemen explained that WFP attaches the utmost importance to the humanitarian situation in Yemen and demands easy and unhindered access of food and humanitarian items.

WFP was making great efforts for donor and donor countries to meet their financial pledges so that WFP would not have to reduce and cease its humanitarian operations in Yemen.
