SANA'A, Jul. 05 (Saba) - Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Ibrahim al-Hamli, Minister of Health Taha al-Mutawakil discussed on Tuesday with director of the United Nations Office "OCHA" Sajid Sajjad, and representative of the World Health Organization Adham Ismail the health situation and the deterioration of the health and humanitarian situation and the proposed solutions to raise the health field.


In the meeting, the officials touched on the problems caused by the deteriorating health situation and the gap between the size of the need and the ability to cover that need.

Al-Hamli pointed out the importance of coordination with the Supreme Council to overcome problems, find appropriate solutions to the health situation, and take measures to provide the needs of hospitals, especially the emergency hospital in Hajjah province.

He stressed the need to expand the activities of the WHO and its interventions to meet the provision of services in hospitals and health facilities, especially the emergency hospital, under the pretext of alleviating the suffering of citizens in light of the humanitarian crisis caused by the aggression and siege.

Al-Hamli stressed the importance of emergency response to face any emergency, and attention to supporting the health sector and providing it with medical devices and supplies, pointing out the importance of coordination with the Council to address the obstacles that may face the work of the organization.

Minister of Health valued the efforts made by the WHO to support the health sector, stressing that these efforts and health interventions must continue to contribute to the provision of services in hospitals and health facilities.

For his part, the Director of OCHA valued the council's efforts in coordinating and facilitating the work of humanitarian organizations working in Yemen, stressing interest in everything that was discussed, and working to solve all problems in coordination with the council.

In turn, the representative of the World Health Organization praised the positive efforts and endeavors of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs to find solutions and facilitate the work of organizations.
