SANA'A, Nov. 25 (Saba) - President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi al-Mashat has met with Chairman of the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee Ibrahim al-Madani.
At the meeting, al-Mashat and al-Madani discussed aspects related to the workflow of the committee in the capital Sana'a and the various provinces.
They reviewed the difficulties facing the work, especially with regard to the provision of fuel in light of the continuing American piracy and the detention of oil derivatives ships and preventing their entry to the port of Hodeida.
President al-Mashat stressed the importance of encouraging citizens to grow wheat, especially in Jawf, Amran, Jahran area in Dhamar provinces, and others areas to achieve food security.
Al-Mashat urged encouraging investment in the agricultural sector and supporting farmers to expand the cultivation of grain crops and conduct studies to establish joint-stock companies.
He stressed the need to pay attention to quality in the agricultural field and to strengthen the role of extension and awareness programs among farmers and on how to use the modern irrigation mechanism to reduce water depletion.
President al-Mashat urged to give agricultural marketing of local products priority and attention in the first place.
