Maqbooli calls for investment in renewable energy field

SANA'A, June. 02 (Saba) – An expanded meeting at the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development, Dr. Hussein Maqbooli, discussed ways and possibilities to encourage investment in the renewable energy field.

In the meeting held on Tuesday included the Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Abdul al-Raqeeb Al-Sharamani, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy Abdul Ghani Al-Madani, and Deputy Minister of Water Hanin Al-Duraib, Dr. Maqbooli stressed the importance of investing in the renewable energy field because of its positive effects in terms of the cost of fuel.

He urged investors and traders to seize investment opportunities in renewable energy, in accordance with a road map to be identified and agreed upon.

The Deputy Prime Minister called on the Ministry of Electricity to take advantage of wind power generation systems in accordance with the possibilities available to improve the electricity situation, especially in Hodeida province, which is in hot weather, which requires the continuation of electricity.

He stressed the importance of coordination between the ministries of electricity and water to ensure the continuation of electricity and water services, especially under the circumstances that Yemen is going through as a result of the aggression and blockade. Urging the two ministries capacity-building, self-reliance, and the elimination of organization support.
