SCMCHA, Oxfam discuss humanitarian affairs in Hajjah
[23/February/2021]

HAJJAH, Feb. 23 (Saba) - Branch director-general of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Hajjah province Allan Fadhayel has discussed with Oxfam Country Director Mohsen Seddiqi ways to strengthen cooperation to alleviate the suffering of the affected and displaced in the province.

In the presence of the director of Oxfam's office in the province, the meeting clarified aspects of cooperation and partnership between the SCMCHA and Oxfam and the mechanisms for increasing Oxfam's interventions and its activities in the province.

The meeting touched on the mechanism for enabling Oxfam to take decisions and move away from excessive centralization that does not serve humanitarian work and undermines partnership relations as well.

In the meeting, Fadhayel emphasized the need to abide by all terms of the agreements, including the commitment to involve the SCMCHA's branch and relevant authorities in the province in evaluating the stages of interventions and activities implemented by Oxfam.

For his part, Seddiqi appreciated the facilities provided by the SCMCHA branch that facilities Oxfam's interventions, pointing to the imminent holding of the donors' conference on March 21, and the efforts made to reach the largest amount of interventions that would contribute to alleviating the suffering of many of those affected in the targeted areas.
