Aggression's crimes against fishermen will not be subject to statute of limitations: official

SANA'A, Jan. 09 (Saba) - First Undersecretary of Abyan province, Saleh Al-Junaidi, confirmed on Saturday that the crimes of the Saudi-led aggression coalition against fishermen in the province will not be subject to the statute of limitations.

"Warships belonging to the aggression coalition prevent fishermen off Shoqra city and in large areas of the coast of the province from fishing," Al-Junaidi told Saba.

The crimes of the aggression coalition and its mercenaries against fishermen included shooting, preventing fishermen from practicing their work and arresting some of them, and confiscating boats, he explained.

He added that the aggression forces destroy coral reefs and pollute the marine environment with toxic substances that lead to fish escaping from their habitats.

Al-Junaidi pointed out that these crimes are part of systematic starvation policies against fishermen in Abyan, and have affected thousands of families who depend on traditional fishing as a main source of livelihood.
