[29/November/2020]

SANA'A, Nov. 29 (Saba) - Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtoor met here on Saturday UNICEF's newly appointed resident Representative to Yemen Philip Dumail.

In the meeting, the premier stressed that the government and its ministers and bodies would work to consolidate all factors entrusted to UNICEF to facilitate its activities.

Bin Habtoor reviewed the size and quality of the challenges and burdens that have been imposed on the Yemeni people since March 2015 due to the aggression and all-out blockade on Yemen.

He emphasized the enormous moral, humanitarian and legal responsibility of the United Nations and the Security Council to end the aggression and siege, to put pressure on the aggression and the countries that support it in order to end the suffering of the Yemeni people.

In turn, the UNICEF Resident Representative described the situation of Yemen's children as sad and called for speeding up the peace process.

Duamelle stressed the need to mobilize more resources and convince the world that children and people in Yemen need help.

He explained that the UNICEF office will do its utmost to continue to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, especially children.
