HODEIDA, Nov. 08 (Saba) - A meeting has held in Hodeida province to discuss the restoration of the archaeological houses in the historic city of Zabid recently damaged by floods.
The meeting, chaired by Hodeida province undersecretary Abdul Jabbar Ahmed, evaluated the damage to Zabid houses caused by floods followed heavy rains fallen recently and the practical measures to implement a rehabilitation project to restore them.
It approved to conduct a survey to list the most affected houses and prepare rehabilitation technical studies according to specifications that guaranteed to keep the historic city of Zabid inscribed on the World Heritage List.
The meeting also agreed on starting the implementation of the first phase of the rehabilitation project estimated at YR 40 million as soon as the studies finalized and the phase's required funds provided.
