SANAA, Aug. 9 (Saba) - President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat has directed provinces' governors to form emergency committees at the level of the capital and other provinces.
According to President al-Mashat's directive, the emergency committees are headed by the secretary of the Capital, provinces' governors, the ministry of interior, works, water and environment, civil defense, health, humanitarian affairs, disaster response, agriculture, and historical cities authority in order to make urgent and rapid interventions according to the nature and pattern of the provinces.
Al-Mashat also directed committees in the various province to inspect visits to places where torrents are located, homes that are vulnerable to falling, and residents' homes on the sides of valleys, inspect dams and barriers and work to find outlets for water drainage as well as educate civilians and repair what they are able to fix, a report in this regard is submitted to the Presidency of the Republic.
The President's directives also included the establishment of an operations room in the Capital and each province, the allocation of a free number, and the continuation of the task of the committees to follow up for a month in case the rains continue the committees gon on in their tasks and work.
The President directed the Heritage and Cultural Development Fund to quickly renovate homes threatened with falls and to face emergencies.
