Oil Company: the aggression coalition is still seizing 20 ships of oil
[25/August/2020]

SANAA, Aug. 25 (Saba) - Yemen's Oil Company has said that the aggression coalition is still holding 20 oil ships so far, including two ships loaded with diesel and two ships carrying domestic gas.

In a statement, Saba got a copy of it, the company stated that 16 ships loaded with petrol and diesel are still being held by the aggression coalition and have not been allowed to enter Hodeidah port despite obtaining entry permits from the United Nations.

The statement indicated that the tonnage of these ships amounts to 203,480 tons of gasoline and 197,499 tons of diesel.

The cargo of these ships amounts to 203,480 tons of gasoline and 197,499 tons of diesel, the statement said.

It pointed out that the maximum detention period for the ship "DAMAS" loaded with 29 thousand and 491 tons of diesel reached 148 days, and the fines imposed on delaying this ship have reached nearly three million dollars, the more detention, the more fines are imposed.

The company considered that the Aggression coalition continues to detain oil ships in clear violation of the provisions of the International convention on human rights, the rules of international humanitarian law, the laws and customs in force, as well as ignoring the permanent aggression of the objectives of the Sweden Agreement, which stressed the need to facilitate the arrival of basic materials and humanitarian aid to the port of Hodeidah.

The statement stressed that the aggression coalition continues its siege and tightening the noose on citizens and increasing their suffering through its continuation in the acts of maritime piracy and obstructing the arrival of ships of oil, domestic gas, food, medicine and other urgent needs to the port of Hodeidah despite the completion of these ships all the procedures of examination and scrutiny in Djibouti through the mechanism of verification and inspection as well as obtaining UN permits.

The statement also considered the United Nations a partner to the Aggression Coalition in the continued detention of oil ships and the impending humanitarian catastrophe due to the suspension of service sectors, especially the health sector.

The Yemeni Oil Company renewed holding the United Nations fully responsible for what the situation in Yemen will lead to in the coming days due to the arbitrary practices of the aggressive countries and their continued detention of oil derivative ships.
