HAJJAH, July 5 (Saba) - Criminal raids and the systematic bombing carried out by the US-Saudi aggression coalition warplanes on Hajjah province over the past five years have caused the death and injury of more than three thousand and 987 citizens and the destruction of two thousand and 107 installations, machinery and equipment.

 

Hajjah province is a target of the aggression that continues its barbaric policy and criminal actions targeting the land and human being in the province which discloses its human and moral hatred and bankruptcy.

 

More than two hundred thousand residents of the border areas in the Haradh and Midi districts of Hajjah have been forced to leave their homes and flee the hell of the shelling that extended their areas towards other districts as a result of the continuous shelling and bombing of the aggression forces and aggression warplanes on the province. The citizens suffer from difficult living conditions in the displacement camps in Abs and Aslam districts due to the severe shortage of food and shelter materials.

 

Joint reports are reported to media and human rights offices in the province, Saba got copies of it, over heinous crimes as a result of the raids, major damage to civilian objects, infrastructure, social, service, and economic facilities, as well as the humanitarian and economic repercussions and the increasing number of displaced people.

 

Victims Of Raids And Massacres:

 

Since the beginning of the aggression in 2015, Hajjah province has been subjected to continuous hysterical shelling, especially in the border areas, where more than one thousand and 604 martyrs, two thousand and 383 wounded have fallen until the end of last year, according to the reports of the relevant authorities.

 

Reports indicated that 373 children, one thousand and 26 men, and 205 women were killed in the hostile airstrikes, and 490 children, one thousand, 547 men, and 346 women were injured.

 

Reports indicated that the aggression warplanes committed 15 horrific massacres in the various districts of Hajjah during the same period, which led to the fall of 603 martyrs, most of them in the districts of Haradh, Mustaba, Abs and Kusher.

 

According to the reports, 51 people were martyred in the massacre of al-Mazrak camps, 31 in the massacre of a Dhiafco restaurant, 25 in the massacre of Bani al-Zulai’a, 89 in the massacre of Ahem market, 37 in the massacre of al-Hijawra, 120 in the massacre of Mustaba, 42 in the massacre of Abas prison and 27 in the massacre of Abas hospital.

 

32 people have been killed in the massacre of al-Sham water factory, 36 in the massacre of Dhuhr Abu Tair, 20  in the massacre of  Harwan area, 35 in the massacre of al-Raafah wedding massacre, 22 in the massacre of al-Warfi station massacre, 23 in the massacre of Talan area in Kushar, and nine displaced from a family in the massacre of Hayash family in Mustaba after the Eid al-Adha prayer.

 

Destruction Of Facilities And Their Infrastructure

 

The US-Saudi aggression coalition warplanes targeted 426 government facilities, 586 social and service facilities, and one thousand and 95 economic and equipment facilities, most of which were damaged by the aggression, depriving thousands of citizens of the health, water, transportation, and food, including the difficulties in obtaining living requirements.

 

The aggression coalition warplanes also targeted 190 roads and bridges, 112 government facilities, 82 water reservoirs and water networks, 17 petroleum stations and electricity generators, and destroyed the Airport and Port of Midi in the coastal area of the province.

 

The airstrikes also destroyed 405 agricultural fields, 48 health facilities, 46 tourist facilities, 45 schools and institutes, 32 mosques, 18 archaeological sites, seven sports facilities, and two media facilities, in addition to targeting and destroying one of the islands in Midi.

 

Reports showed that the economic losses and damage resulting from the aggression included the destruction of 596 commercial facilities, 211 cars, 54 poultry farms, 46 food trucks, 41 fuel stations, 41 markets, 32 food stores, 32 factories, 30 fuel tankers, six fishing boats, and six agricultural equipment.

 

Tragic Situations:

 

Thousands of families in the province live in tragic conditions due to the damage and destruction in civilian's homes and their properties caused by the aggression, leading the population of entire villages in Haradh and Midi to displace due to the indiscriminate shelling and the destruction of their property and shelling of government's service and health projects.

 

Reports indicate that more than 79,245 families have been displaced and 136,678 foster families have been affected, as well as the need for more than 215,923 families for food.

 

They pointed to the suffering of one million and 325 thousand and 608 individuals due to the aggression bombing and the disastrous consequences and human repercussions that have affected negatively the living conditions.

 

The suffering of more than 250 fishermen in the Midi district has also worsened after they became victims of aggression flying. They face impossible choices between extreme poverty and death.

 

Negatively Implications Carried Out By The Aggression

 

The aggression and its continuous bombardment of Hajjah province cause severe material damage to various sectors of development, investment, agriculture, tourism, works, freezing service projects, and declining financial returns for the local authority and revenue offices.

 

Hajjah governor Hilal al-Soufi stressed the decline in the revenues of the local authority’s resources, freezing, and stalling of hundreds of service and development projects as well as stopping investment revenues program due to the coalition’s continued aggression and blockade.

 

The governor pointed out the positive handling that the local authority is taking to confront the economic crisis and implement community projects and agricultural initiatives to overcome challenges n the province.

 

He stressed that the Hajjah province is hard to break, no matter how the aggression intensifies its brutal raids against the province, stressing the steadfastness and persistence of the people of the province in foiling the aggression plans and its tools dismantle the social fabric and popular cohesion.

 

Al-Soufi pointed out that the genocide will not knee down the people of the province and will not dissuade them from their steadfastness, calling them to enhance and to continue the efforts of mobilization to defend the sovereignty of the nation and support options for victory.

 

The Director-General of the province's Agriculture and Irrigation Office Engineer Yahya al-Qudami said the agricultural sector incurred direct and indirect losses estimated at more than 210 billion riyals over the five years, including the stoppage of the returns of some agricultural crops and the damage of thousands of hectares and hundreds of farms and equipment due to the direct bombing.

 

For his part, the Director-General of the Tourism Office Fahad al-Qudami confirmed that the tourism sector in Hajjah suffered indirect losses during the five years at a value of seven billion riyals, as many of the tourist facilities were closed and the services of hotels, parks, restaurants, and travel agencies were stopped due to the continued aggression and blockade.

 

The General Director of the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities branch Ahmed al-Dhole'e said that the estimated amounts are not worth anything compared to the cultural and historical value of the sites that were targeted by the aggression coalition.

 

He affirmed that the aggression attempts to destroy and erase the Yemeni monuments and civilization are a crime against the Yemeni people and its human history, considering that the international silence encouraged the aggression to continue its crimes in targeting the antiquities and civilization of Yemen.

 

In turn, the director of antiquities and museums Hammoud Ghailan pointed to the damage of archaeological sites due to the bombing of the aggression, and the destruction and deterioration of dozens of historical sites and installations during the rainy seasons as a result of non-restoration of the damage caused by the warplanes bombing.

 

The director said the archaeological sites, ancient historical cities, and unique scenes were an attractive factor for internal and external tourism and an important economic resource. 

 

He stressed that the economic repercussions imposed by the aggression and the blockade caused the decline of domestic tourism and the decline of visitors' appetite for tourist areas.

Ghailan called on international organizations to intervene to rehabilitate and restore the damages that affected historical and archaeological sites and take a serious stance towards the systematic destruction of cities and archaeological installations as a global human heritage.
