SANAA, Nov. 13 (Saba) - Prime Minister Dr. Abdel-Aziz bin Habtour, on Tuesday, received the Regional Director of the World Food Program (WFP) in the Middle East and North Africa, Muhannad Hadi, who is currently visiting our country.

During the meeting, they discussed the progress of the WFP activities in Yemen and the positive humanitarian effects it is causing of fighting hunger and pushing the specter of famine on millions of Yemenis, who have been forced by the ongoing aggression and siege for nearly five years to lose their source of income. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen the humanitarian role of the program at the national level and its humanitarian interventions, especially in remote areas and to ensure the benefit of the largest number of the poorest and neediest according to the steps agreed upon and signed two months before the national party and the program.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of WFP in fighting the specter of famine in Yemen.

The WFP Regional Director stressed that WFP is keen to continue its humanitarian work and carry out its duties towards Yemen.

He explained that the activity of the program in Yemen is the largest in the world in recognition of the magnitude of the tragedy suffered by the majority of Yemenis.
