HR Minister meets Grande, Red Cross officials

SANAA, Nov.7 (Saba) - Human Rights Minister Alia Faisal Abdullatif met on Wednesday the UN Resident Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Liz Grande.
During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Human Rights Ali Al-Dailami, Minister Alia stressed the importance of the meeting to convey the suffering of Yemenis to the concerned people in the United Nations and the international community in general through the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen.
"The 19 million Yemenis are now below the line and need food intervention," Alia said. The humanitarian coordinator is aware of the humanitarian problems and challenges facing Yemen as it is at the heart of its tasks and work, which requires urgent intervention in this aspect.
The Minister of Human Rights, diseases and epidemics are expanding day by day in light of the lack of the Ministry of Health and government hospitals the most basic means to save the health situation as a result of aggression and the continued siege.
It also touched on the forcibly disappeared and abducted in areas under the control of aggression and mercenaries.
The Deputy Minister for Human Rights highlighted the important role that the United Nations and the international community should play in the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
The Humanitarian Coordinator said she would work on conveying what was presented at the meeting to the concerned United Nations.
The Minister for Human Rights met on Wednesday with the Deputy Coordinator of the Protection Section of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for Restoring Family Links Clotilde Bodson and the Deputy Protection Coordinator of the Committee for the Protection of the Civilian Population Karen Kohl and Idi Muneefi of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Human Rights Ali al-Dailami, discussed the humanitarian situation in Yemen and ways to address this in terms of the responsibilities and tasks of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, in the forefront of the US-Saudi-led aggression and siege imposed by the countries of the aggression coalition on Yemen and the continued closure of Sanaa International Airport.
