Meetings of Yemeni-Chinese Joint Committee start in Beijing

BEIJING, April 23 (Saba)- The meetings of the ninth session of the Yemeni – Chinese Joint Ministerial Committee began on Tuesday in the Chinese capital, Beijing.

The session was co-chaired by Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, Ahmed Bin Daghr, and the Chinese Minister of Commerce ,Gao Hucheng.

At the start of the meeting, bin Daghr conveyed Yemen's condolences to the Chinese people on the victims of the earthquake that hit Sichuan Province recently.

He expressed confidence that this session will come out with good results serve the two countries, especially in the areas of investment, trade, information technology, oil and minerals, industrial areas and sea ports.

Bin Saghr welcomed Chinese companies to invest in new oil exploration areas in Yemen, emphasizing on providing the necessary facilities for them.

For his part, Chinese Commerce Minister voiced his happiness for the stability of the situation in Yemen, expressing his optimism constantly about the growth of bilateral relations in various fields.

He confirmed that the Chinese government will support the development plans in Yemen according to its priorities ,and will encourage Chinese companies to increase their investments in Yemen, and will continue to train the Yemeni cadres in the different fields.

It is scheduled to conclude the meetings of the ninth session by the signing of the minutes of the session on Wednesday.
