Germany grants €12.4 mln, IFAD allots $90 mln to Yemen's development

SANA'A, April 10 (Saba) - Yemen and Germany on Wednesday signed in Sana'a two financing agreements worth of €12.4 million to support reproductive health and provide job opportunities.
Under the first agreement, the KfW Bank gives €5 million to support the Reproductive Health project, the 2nd phase, to be carried out by Yaman Foundation for Social and Health Development.
The second agreement allocates over €7.4 million to contribute to finance the project of creating job opportunities, 4th stage, to be implemented by Social Fund for Development (SFD).
On the other hand, Yemen and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) approved the new program of the integral rural development worth of $90 million to cover governorates of Lahj, Dhale, Hodaida, Taiz and Dammar.
The approval was made during a meeting brought together Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Sa'adi and Director of the IFAD Office in Yemen Fathia Bahran.
The program is intended to begin in the coming January.
