IMF ready to present needed financial assistance to Yemen

AMMAN, July 03 (Saba) - The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has asserted the readiness to present the financial assistance Yemen needs.

The statement was made by the IMF mission's head Hasan al-Atrash in a joint talk session held between Yemen and the IMF in the Jordanian Capital, Amman.

Al-Atrash affirmed the IMF's willingness to contact with international donors to enhance the support programs they offer to Yemen.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi, who chaired the Yemeni side in the session, reviewed the monetary and economic development in the domestic arena and the big challenges face Yemen in addition to the possible financial and technical assistance the IMF can provide.

Al-Arhabi urged the fund and the World Bank (WB) to play their roles in encourage the international donor organizations and countries to enhance the joint cooperation programs, particularly that are targeted the limited-income classes in the country.

The Financial Minister Moa'man al-Suhaibi also talked about the measures the governments have adopted to encounter the challenges and to ensure the stability of the citizens' livelihood and the national economy as well.
