SANA'A, May 16 (Saba) - Volume of trade exchange between Yemen and the Member States of Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) increased by over YR 794.9 billion in 2010.
This is an increase of about YR 84 billion in 2009, with growth rate of 11.8 percent, according to data issued by the Central Organization of Statistics (COS).
The SOC's data showed that Yemen's exports to OPEC's States amounted to YR 160.5 billion in 2010, compared with YR 150.7 billion in 2009.
Meanwhile, Yemen's imports from OPEC's States reached YR 634.4 billion, compared to YR 560.3 billion in the same period.
The United Arab Emirates topped the list of OPEC's States in trade exchange with Yemen amounting to YR 444.4 billion in 2010, followed by Saudi Arabia with about YR 219.1 billion, and Kuwait with nearly YR 95.2 billion.
The trade balance between Yemen and OPEC's States reached YR 473.8 billion in 2010 in favor of OPEC's States, compared with YR 409.6 billion in 2009.
It is worth to mention that the OPEC's States includes Iran, UAE, Algeria, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Indonesia, Venezuela, Qatar, Libya and Nigeria.
