Yemen, UK discuss security cooperation

SANA'A, Feb.16(Saba)- Yemen and Britain discussed here on Wednesday aspects of security cooperation and means of boosting them, especially areas of training and combating terrorism and enhancing the coastguard abilities.

This came during a meeting brought together Interior Minister Mutahar al-Masri and British ambassador to Yemen Jonathan Wilks, who touched on arrangements for holding the meeting of Friends of Yemen and the possibility of supporting security aspects . 

The British ambassador hailed the performance of the Yemeni security services , especially in the counter-terrorism unity and the coastguard authority. 

For his part, al-Masri noted the level of the existing security cooperation between Yemen and Britain, valuing the support provided by the British government to the Yemeni security services.
 
On another hand, al-Masri met with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)'s mission in Yemen Jean-Nicolas Marti.

At the meeting, al-Masri discussed with the ICRC's official areas of cooperation and coordination between the Interior Ministry and the ICRC and ways to facilitate the ICRC's tasks in the health and relief aspects in Yemen.
