Kuwaitis in Egypt brought back home on free flights

KUWAIT, Jan 29 (Saba) -- Kuwait's Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Roudhan Al-Roudhan said Saturday that under HH the Amir's directions, Kuwaiti citizens and residents are being brought back home on free flights in light of the current security troubles in Egypt, Kuwait News Agency has reported.
These directions have been given to officials in Kuwait Airways, who are to coordinate efforts with Cairo International Airport, in order to allow extra flights to land in the airport, he added.
Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Khaled Al-Jarallah said that the ministry since yesterday has been closely monitoring Kuwaiti citizens currently residing in Egypt, via a special operations room created for the task in coordination with the Kuwait Embassy in Cairo.
Al-Jarallah added that the embassy has provided lodging for Kuwaitis in hotels close to the airport.
Furthermore, Kuwait Airways Chairman and Managing Director Hamad Al-Falah confirmed that the airline will be organizing an extra flight from the Egyptian capital to bring Kuwaitis home.
The flight will leave at 2:00 pm local time, he said, adding that the airline's other flights will not cease.
The Kuwaiti airline's offices are open 24 hours a day, and notices have been posted at all of its three offices in Cairo.
