RIYADH, Jan. 26 (Saba) -- Saudi Arabia has warned its citizens against traveling to Lebanon "until the return of calm and stability," state-run SPA news agency reported Wednesday.

"Due to the developing situation in the republic of Lebanon, the foreign ministry advises Saudi citizens against traveling to Lebanon during this period until the return of calm and stability, " the statement said.

The move came as tension escalated in Lebanon when Hezbollah- backed Najib Mikati won the majority support from the parliament.

Protestors in Tripoli, Saida, Beirut and other regions on Tuesday went to streets in response to Sunni parliament members' call on Monday as the "day of rage" to condemn Shiite group Hezbollah's "intervention in Sunni issues". They burned tyres and opened fire in the air.
