Palestinian prisoners carry on hunger strike

GAZA, Jan 22 (Saba) -- Hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli Nafha prison are going on their hunger strike on solitary confinement, Kuwait News Agency has reported.
The strike is to protest the imprisonment of several leading figures linked to different Palestinian fractions on regular night raids on cells and frequent solitary confinement for long durations, it added.
It noted that Nafha prison which is located in Negev desert have been called for releasing Palestinian prisoners jailed for long term solitary confinement.
Among the prisoners in solitary imprisonment are Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Secretary-General Ahmad Sa'adat and Hamas lawmaker Jamal Abu Al-Haya, it added.
PFLP members have suffered deteriorating health and Israel's prison authorities denied them access to medial treatment, according to the radio.
