GAZA, Dec. 25 (Saba) -- Islamic Hamas movement on Saturday slammed Canada for listing it as a terrorist organization, according to Xinhua.

"The decision is a clear bias to Israel," Hamas, which does not recognize Israel, said. "This encourages Israel to commit more crimes against the Palestinian people," Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum told Xinhua.

On Friday, Canada declared 42 organizations as "terrorist entities," including Hamas, the Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas and al-Qaida.

Hamas won Palestinian parliamentary elections in 2006, and seized the Gaza Strip by force a year later. The United States led an international campaign to isolate it for refusing to recognize Israel.

The Middle East Quartet, which comprises the United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations, outlined three conditions to enable the international community to deal with Hamas. Hamas rejects the conditions, which includes renouncing violence and accepting peace deals between Israel and Palestine Liberation Organization.
