Washington, December 17 (Saba) - The United States has pledged further engagement with the Arab League next week following "constructive meetings" over resuming Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations, according to State Department spokesman Philip Crowley, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).
"We've had what we thought were constructive meetings this week. We'll have more meetings with the parties next week. The Arab League continues to support the role the United States is playing in engaging the parties. This is what we plan to continue to do," Crowley said at a briefing here on Thursday.
He gave no comments on Thursday's meeting in Cairo between US Special Mideast Envoy George Mitchell and Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani.
"We are going to continue to find ways to address the substance, to make progress .That's our intent," he said.
