Yemen arrests 4 al-Qaeda suspects after killing of 3 soldiers
[07/August/2010]

SANA’A, Aug. 07 (Saba)- Security forces have arrested 4 suspected al-Qaeda members accused of killing 3 Yemeni soldiers on Thursday in Abyan province, south Yemen, Interior Ministry said.

The Ministry made clear that suspected al-Qaeda gunmen opened fire Thursday on a security patrol in Abyan, killing three Yemeni soldiers.

In a statement, the Ministry said that it had suspended the commander of police in Abyan following the killing of the 3 soldiers in an attack by gunmen.

The ministry said the attack was the result of negligence and failure to take necessary security precautions by the Police Unit in Abyan.
