SANA'A, May 15 (Saba)- Yemen and World Bank discussed on Saturday the projects achieved in the field of energy funded by the bank with a total cost of $50 million.
The meeting, held by Minister of Electricity Awadh al-Socotri and the WB's delegation headed by Director of Regional Management for the Affairs of Egypt, Yemen and Djibouti, dealt with the tender on supplying the materials to reduce electricity waste in the network.
It also dealt with the contract on adding a new boiler to the steam station of al-Hasouah in Aden with a total cost of $21 million.
The meeting reviewed studies on the project of electricity of rural areas and means of the implementation, in addition to the project of generating energy by wind which is implemented in Mocha.
Al-Socotri appreciated the WB's efforts in supporting development fields in Yemen such as energy, mentioning to the necessity of solving all the problems which face work in the project funded by WB.
