SANA'A, May 08 (Saba)- Minister of Fisheries Mohammad Shamlan held Saturday talks with Director of the Middle East and North Africa of the French CLS Company David on the areas of surveillance systems cooperation between the ministry and the company.
During the meeting, CLS official presented a detailed explanation about the control system on ships using radar via satellite and the company's modern surveillance systems on monitoring regional waters and boats for detect any strange objects.
He affirmed readiness of his company to provide all the system components and train staff for operation and analysis of data to make use of them according to the
latest systems and technology programs, pointing out to the cost of system is about 2 million euros.
Shamlan affirmed the importance of conservation of fisheries resources and reducing over-fishing by modern systems, pointing out to the importance of an integrated system according to the latest systems to cope with the scientific progress in the field of telecommunications and information technology and to help maintain the fisheries as one of the most important economic assets in Yemen.
