Russian-Venezuelan Talks Result in Package of Wide-Range

Caracas, April 03 (Saba) - The talks between Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez resulted in a substantial package of joint agreements to develop cooperation in such areas as aircraft and ship building, energy, education, transport and agriculture, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).
Four intergovernmental agreements were signed to mutually recognize education documents and to develop cooperation in the area of higher education, agriculture and in the transport infrastructure sector, Russian news agenc (Itar-Tass) reported.
Interdepartmental memorandums were signed on cooperation in the electric power sector, science, technologies and innovations, and among the signed documents is an interdepartmental programme for cultural exchanges in 2010-12.
The Russian company Sovkomflot and the Venezuelan sea transportation company PDV Marina signed an agreement on intentions. Ilyushin Finance and Aeroflot concluded a memorandum on mutual understanding with the Venezuelan side.
Inter RAO UES and PDVSA signed an agreement on intentions. The United Shipbuilding Corporation concluded an agreement on the intentions to build a ship yard in Venezuela.
During Putin''s visit, some documents were signed within the Junin 6 project implementation, including an agreement to pay a 600-million-dollar bonus and an agreement on the non-divulgence of information between Transneft and PDVSA. Besides, the Russian and Venezuelan energy ministers agreed on terms to implement new projects in the oil and gas sector.
The finance ministers of the two countries made changes to the intergovernmental agreement on the Russian-Venezuelan bank establishment.
A package of interdepartmental memorandums was also signed, including those to set up an emergency management centre and a joint company to produce and weld rails and to approve the license for Russian automobiles planned to be sold in Venezuela.
Appropriate departments during the visit agreed on cooperation in the areas of fishery, sport and education. Besides, a protocol of intention was signed relating to production and export of bananas.
