Tehran, April 01 (Saba) - Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that respect to Iraq sovereignty is among lasting principles of Iran's foreign policy, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been supporting Iraq political process, being based on democracy, and it will continue the policy in the future either, said Mehmanparast, adding that Iran has always been welcoming and praising glorious and courageous participation of the public in recent parliamentary elections in Iraq, which showcases national solidarity and strength.

He said coalition of political parties and wings in Iraq to form future government of the country is a domestic issue and evidently, the parties move on the basis of their own electoral programs and plans irrespective of foreign considerations and the Islamic Republic of Iran has no role in it.

He went on to say that Iran is willing to accept all Iraq political wings within framework of the policy to support the country''s political process and help formation of new government there within shortest possible time.

Mehmanparast concluded that respect for countries'' sovereignty and non-intervention in their internal affairs as well as expansion of mutual cooperation on the basis of mutual interests are among durable principles of Iran''s foreign policy with regards to other countries, including the neighbor ones.
