S. Korea offers Turkey construction of nuclear power plant

ANKARA, Feb 10 (Saba) -- South Korea offered anew to build a nuclear power plant in Northern Turkey, said an Korean official on Wednesday, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

According to the Anadolu Agency (AA), President of South Korea Electric Power Institute Kim San-Soo and Turkish Minister of Energy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz had discussed cooperation on the peaceful applications of nuclear energy.

Kim said that a Korean company offered to build a 4,000-megawatt nuclear power stations in the northern region of Turkey.

Turkey is also seeking to develop its nuclear plants by asking Russia to provide nuclear fuel for the power plants which would cover the growing need of energy in Turkey.
