First meeting for Yemeni businesswomen held

SANA'A, Dec. 06 (Saba)- The unit of businesswomen in the Businessmen Club was organized on a first meeting for Yemeni businesswomen under slogan "Toward Promising Progress for Businesswoman in Development of the Society."
In the opening session of the meeting, Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakel delivered a speech in which he confirmed the importance of holding such meeting by private sector to enhance its role in the economic field to response for the current changes in the new global economy.
"The last years witnessed speed and unexpected change in performance of the global economy," he said, adding that "changes of economic ties that impact on economics of the developing countries."
He insisted on the important role of the private sector to support the Yemeni economy that depends basically on oil revenues.
Al-Mutawakel pointed out to the reforms agenda of the Yemeni government since 2005, which determine role of the sector to boost economic process in the nation.
Chairman of the club Ahmed Ba-Zarah said that the meeting would discuss issues associated with activities of the Yemeni businesswomen, affirming key participation of the businesswomen in national economy.
"It should study all solutions to resolve problems facing businesswomen and gather efforts to improve their capabilities," Ba-Zarah said.
The meeting focused on four papers related to legal aspects of setting up firms and challenges facing the businesswomen as well as professional values for the businesswomen.
