Al-Mutawakel: Yemen has passed three steps for joining GAFTZ

SANA'A, Dec. 05 (Saba)- Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakel said Wednesday that Yemen has passed three important steps in implementing treaties for joining the Greater Arab Free Trade Zoon (GAFTZ), confirming that his country would finish all measures for this purpose during 2010.
Al-Mutawakel pointed out, in the conclusion of Training Course for Implementing Activities of GAFTZ, that Yemen's joining is important in the process of economic integration and integration in international economies.
He indicated that the Arab League's role should act in propagating for Arab economic integration and its importance. "We have sought with Arab League for establishing a unit in the ministry in charge of implementing treaty of GAFTZ," he said.
Fourteen participants from concerned economic bodies and representatives of private sector received in the four-day long course, organized by industry ministry in cooperation with AL's General Secretariat, lectures on conceptions of trade policy and aims of treaty of easing trade exchange between Arab countries as well as the importance of establishing GAFTZ.
