CAIRO, Dec. 05 (Saba)- Minister of Human Rights Huda al-Ban affirmed on Wednesday cooperation of her ministry with other human rights ministries which are participating in the International Conference for Democracy which concluded its meetings on Wednesday here in Cairo.

She praised role of the Egyptian National Council in bringing the conference into success in cooperation with UNESCO.

She pointed out that the joint cooperation with the Egyptian side focused on exchanging and continuing contacts, adding that the previous secretary general of the UN Botros Ghali and head of the council welcomed this cooperation.

Al-Ban acquainted participants in the conference on her ministry's expertise and the importance of its existence as a ministry assigned with human rights issues.

She made clear that representatives of Arab human rights institutions met on the sideline of the conference and agreed on the importance of preserving results of the three meetings they held in Rabat in November 2007.

The minister pointed to the importance of holding these meetings periodically and announcing confirmation of the fourth meeting of the national institutions for human rights that is to be held in Algeria in March 2008.

She also pointed that the conference denounced the Israeli violations of human rights in the Arab occupied lands.
