Yemen confirms its commitment to combat corruption

INDONESIA, Nov. 22 (Saba) - Yemen emphasizes its commitment and intent to move forward on combating corruption that became a huge obstacle in the way of social, political and economic development, head of the National Supreme Anti-Corruption Authority (NSAA) Ahmad al-Anesi stated on Thursday.

"Combating corruption now is a national priority" al-Anesi said, in his speech delivered in the Second Annual Conference of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities kicked off in Bali, Indonesia, last Wednesday.

He voiced the country's desire to gain advantage from experiences of the others preceded Yemen in this field, stressing the need to such support.

Al-Anesi reviewed, before representatives of 130 countries, measures taken by Yemen in this regard, including the ratification of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, issuing a law of combating corruption and approving the financial disclosure in addition to establishing the NSAA.
