Mujawar meets Chief Executive of the Doha Bank

SANA'A, Nov.10 (Saba) - The Chief Executive of the Doha Bank Ravan Seetharaman acquainted on Saturday the Prime Minister Ali Mujawar with results of the negotiation between Doha Bank and Cooperative and Agricultural Credit Bank over establishing an Islamic Bank in Yemen with a joint capital estimated to be $100 million.
Seetharaman highlighted procedures taken by the government for overcoming obstacles hindered improving banking investments, especially its decision that allows to raise the percentage of foreign partnership in the banks' capitals.
Mujawar affirmed the government's support for the results of the negotiation on establishing joint Islamic Bank, which would assist in financing the investment activities, noting to the importance of considering increasing the bank's capital through selling shares to the private sector and nationals.
He renewed the government's keenness on providing all means required to strengthen the investment environment in the country.
