YSCC meeting to be held next week to sign 14 agreements

SANA'A, Nov 08 (Saba)- A Yemeni technical team is to head next Sunday for the Saudi capital Riyadh for participating in preparation for the 18th meeting of the Yemeni-Saudi Coordination Council (YSCC) to be held next Tuesday, in which the two countries would sign 14 agreements.

Deputy Minister of the Planning and International Cooperation, head of the Yemeni team Hisham Sharaf said to the state-run 26sep.net that the meeting would be co- presided over by Primer Ali Mujawar and the Saudi Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz.

Sharaf said that 14 agreements would be signed during the meeting, including a $18 million grant to be presented from Prince Sultan to set up a hospital and a cancer center at Hadramout university and a $12 million agreement to fund a project of Medicine College in Taiz province in as well as a $30 million loan to fund the Hodeidah hospital project.

"A $18 million agreement to establish a heart center at the Aden hospital and a $100 million agreement for the project of the second Marib gas station will be agreed", said Hisham.

Hisham make clear that other projects would be signed during the YSCC meeting in fields of judiciary, health and earth sciences in addition to cooperation programs in fields of higher education and air transportation.

Well-informed sources said that Mujawar would convey the Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz a letter from President Ali Abdullah Saleh related to the mutual cooperation relations between the two countries and means of developing them.

Noteworthy, the last meeting of YSCC held in Mukalla in 2006 had signed agreements to fund projects of roads at the cost of $230 million and an $100 million agreement to fund the exportation of Saudi goods to Yemen.
