ABYAN, Nov. 06 (Saba)- Abyan governor Mohammed Shamlan discussed on Tuesday with the German Ministry of Water and Environment delegation headed by director of Water Program, preparations related to starting implementation of water and sanitation project worth of €20 million to be financed by Germany for Zunjubar and Ja'ar cities.

During the meeting, the governor valued German support and reviewed the importance of rapid implementation of water and sanitation project for these two cities to solve water shortage and continuous outflow of drainage water as well as its impact on health and environment.

On his part, the German official confirmed that the project, on which implementation will be started in the first half of 2008, will gain interest of the German government in framework of German support to Yemen in order to improve water source and develop institutional infrastructures for water management institutions.
