Yemen, US hold meeting over promoting human rights

SANA'A, (Saba)- Minister of Human Rights Huda al-Ban held a meeting on Saturday with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor Erica Barks-Ruggles over efforts of Yemen in promoting human rights.
They also discussed issues associated with human rights, care of juveniles and means of adapting national laws with international agreements concerning children and women rights.
Steps for returning back Yemeni detainees in Guantanamo to Yemen to be trialed here were also discussed.
They also reviewed arrangements for holding Future Forum which would be held in Yemen next December.
Al-Ban appreciated interest of the American concerned authorities in the situation of human rights in Yemen.
The US official, for her part, affirmed keenness of the US government to enhance ties of cooperation with Yemen in different fields, particularly in rights of women and children.
