Yemen to participate in anti-drugs symposium

SANA,A, (Saba)- Yemen will participate next Monday in the Arab symposium on "Ways to Fight Drugs" organized by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in United Arab Emirates on October 27-31.
The director of the Yemeni Public Administration to Fight Drugs, head of Yemen's delegation to UAE, Khaled Mutahar al-Radhi, said Yemen will show its vision about drugs fighting and Yemen's plans in this regard.
Heads of anti-drugs organs in some Arab countries will discuss the possibility of putting an Arab strategy to fight drugs which threaten communities and development, said al-Radhi in a statement to Saba on departure to UAE.
UNODC is mandated to assist Member States in their struggle against illicit drugs, crime and terrorism. In the Millennium Declaration, Member States also resolved to intensify efforts to fight transnational crime in all its dimensions, to redouble the efforts to implement the commitment to counter the world drug problem and to take concerted action against international terrorism.
