Qatari mediation is not failed, says al-Atwani

SANA'A, (Saba)- A source in the presidential committee of supervising Saada agreement said that the Qatari mediation is not failed, affirming continuation of efforts to carry our articles of the agreement which have been announced last June.

The Secretary General of the Unionist and Nasserite Party Sultan al-Atwani said that the Qatari delegation left for Qatar in response to a request from the Qatari government for consultation over current developments in implementing the agreement.

Recently, media reports quoted official sources as saying that the Qatari team in the committee left the country due to foot-dragging in implementing the plan by the al-Houthis.

Al-Atwani pointed out to Abdul-Malik al-Houthi that he did not reject the timetable but commented on it. He rejected to reveal what those comments are.

On August12, the committee determined the final timetable to carry out the rest terms of the agreement between the government and rebels.

The timetable stipulates a phased withdrawal of rebels from various locations where fighting has taken place, and their replacement by regular soldiers.

According to the timetable, the government would release rebels who are in its custody gradually and rebel commanders due to go to Qatar in final two days of the timetable.
