USA to further support higher education in Yemen

SANA'A, (Saba)- USA deputy ambassador to Yemen Enji Perian said that her country granted Yemen several advantages to support higher education in the country including easing the Yemeni students' enrollment to the American universities, in addition to facilitating the embassy's visa procedures related to the Yemeni students who would like to study in the US universities.
In a meeting held Thursday with Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Saleh Ba Surrah, Perian said that the US embassy intends to pay visits to the Yemeni universities to introduce the American qualifying programs including the International Visitor Program as well as programs for qualifying teachers in English language.
Ba Surrah referred to the need to increase the scholarships,qualifying programs and training courses offered by USA to Yemen, stressing the importance of building cooperation relations between Sana'a and Aden universities and American universities.
The meeting also discussed the possibilities of establishing a branch of the American University in Yemen.
