Govt criticizes JPM intended demo against int'l wheat price hike
[14/August/2007]
SANA'A, (Saba)- In its weekly meeting, the cabinet criticized on Tuesday manipulation of Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) of the recent international raise in price of wheat, describing their call to hold demonstrations as illegal and irresponsible act.
It noted that such action does not cope with democratic practices that depend on dialogue. It confirmed that the cabinet has taken measures to reduce international increase in price of wheat.
The parties should contribute to offer solutions for tackling such issue instead of aggravating the situation by calling people to go to streets and organize demonstrations which impact negatively on security and peace.
The cabinet pointed out that such practices merely aim at erupting division in nation and do not serve national interests. It affirmed that any such acts would face strict legal procedures in order to protect security of the nation.
