SANA'A, July 21 (Saba)- A Mauritanian plane carrying 40 tons of insecticides as a support to Yemen for combating locusts in Yemen arrived on Saturday here.

Deputy assistant of the ministry of agriculture and irrigation Saleh al-Baishi stated that the quick support provided by Mauritania in cooperation with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Food Program (WFP) would be used in combating locusts in governorates of Hadhramout, Shabwa and al-Jawf.

FAO's representative Hashem al-Shami clarified that Yemen has created 14 teams in eastern provinces of the country, indicating that spray process would be conducted by a plane because of difficult and remote areas.

On the other hand, WFP's representative said that the gift support is a result of joint efforts between Yemen and the organization in the field of combating locusts.
