SANA'A, July 18 (Saba)- Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi met on Wednesday with the regional advisor for environment at the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Ahmed Ata-Allah and thrashed out with him the necessity of maintaining best use of available resources with consideration for environment safety.
The meeting was focused on merging environment considerations in the sustainable
development strategy.
The Minister confirmed Yemen's interest to benefit from the regional andinternational successful experiences over merging environmental considerations in plans and strategies of sustainable development.
"Environmental issues are occupying the government's priority," he said.
For his part, ESCWA advisor appreciated Yemen's reaction with all efforts to preserve environment in the region.
He pointed out ESCWA's readiness to offer all cooperation to strengthen Yemen's efforts to improve legislations concerning preserving environment.
