60 contestants qualified in Yemeni Innovator Competition and future organization of 4th exposition to inventions

ANAA, May 7 (Saba) - 60 contestants out of 300 compete in the second stage of the Yemeni Innovator Competition, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce through Yemen Satellite Channel, which lasts until the end of Ramadan.

The competition aims to motivate the creators to provide alternatives to the requirements of construction and development and to overcome the repercussions of the US-saudi coalition war, siege and aggression on the country.

During announcing the names of qualified for the second phase of theĀ  National Competition for Pioneers of Innovative Projects "The Yemeni Innovator", the Minister of Industry and Trade Abdulwahab Al-Dourah affirmed that the ministry is keen to support and encourage and to adopte the innovations, via partnership with the private sector.

He pointed out the importance of cooperation between the government and the private sector to invest in scientific inventions and innovations, adopt them and integrate them into economic and social development plans.

"The competition aims at encouraging inventors to present their ideas, introduce their inventions and evaluate them as well benefit from exchanging experiences," he said.

"It aims also to developing research, spreading the culture of invention and enhancing cooperation with public education institutions, universities and research centers," he added.

The Minister stressed that the ministry will spare no efforts in the search for bodies that adopt these inventions and innovations.

" A fourth exhibition of inventions will be organized after the competition to present the inventions and innovations participating in the competition," he said.

In turn, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed Al-Hashemi affirmed that the fourth exhibition of inventions, which will be organized by the Ministry aims to market inventions and encourage inventors and researchers to present their inventions to the public, to introduce new technologies and to stimulate companies and institutions to invest in the field of inventions.

The competition, which is broadcast throughout the days of holy month on Yemen satellite channel consists of three stages, where the first witnessed 300 participants, where 60 of them reach to the second stage and then 10 qualifying projects should be honored and awards will be presented.

It is worth mentioning that the competition in its second phase is held every evening throughout the month of Ramadan on the twentieth Gulf Hall and is witnessing great competition between the contestants in addition to the daily financial prizes to the public.
