SANAA, April 14 (Saba) - A security man was killed and three other persons wounded in a shooting near a nightclub in the Australian city of Melbourne on Sunday, police said.
According to press reports on Sunday, the shooting took place from a car to a crowd standing outside the nightclub,
Four people were taken to hospital, but one of them, a 37-year-old security man, died shortly thereafter. A 28-year-old man remains in critical condition, while two people aged 29 and fifty have been injured less seriously.
An Australian police spokeswoman said the shooting was probably not linked to terrorism.
Four separate shootings in March in Melbourne killed five people.
Mass killings are rare in Australia, where arms-bearing laws are extremely tight since 35 people were killed in 1996 in Port Arthur, Tasmania.
Last year, seven members of one family in western Australia were shot dead by a gunman who committed suicide on the spot. It was the bloodiest crime in the country since the Port Arthur massacre.
